More file windows would be great in TC, personally Im using instantly 3 to 6 directories, so it would be perfect to have them all the time on the screen, and really 1680x1050... theres is enough place to display file windows 2x2 (even 3x2 would work fine too i guess).
More file windows

Hello ! Welcome aboard !
• Using the Search, you would have found that it has been requested already n… times for ages…
• At least, indeed a third panel when needed should be nice, I miss it often.
• But don't forget that all users have various screens, not necessarily large…
For instance, here I've only 17" CRT - 1024*768.
- With a higher resolution, the items are getting unreadable…
Kind regards,
Claude

Unfortunately most advantages of a 2 panel file manager would be lost when there are more than 2 panels. That's why I have added just 2 additional tree panels, not file panels.

Good evening,
• According to my needs and my point of view (and the poll), the sep. trees don't solve common lacks of the 2-panel layout…
• More precisely, I thought to a pane at bottom, taking the whole width,
and called when needed from a command (button or else).
- That has been suggested (I don't remember who did), and should do the trick for me.
- Let's say that such a panel could have limited functionalities, i.e. be only a target or so, it should be already pretty helpful…

As in the 'more-than-2-panel' layout I think that the functionality could be achieved only by mouse indications (in order to indicate the target), what about running two instances of Total Commander? Then you would have four panels with the ability to drag and drop between instances?
Could you please provide an example of activity requiring three panels in a single TC instance?
