Suggestion: Copy/Move Queue

Hi,

In the copy/move queue, is there any chance of making some functionality to change the order of the queue?

I find myself copying files over the network a lot, and sometimes i just want a document copied faster than the 5 dvds that are above it.

This functionality is implemented already in TC7. Just pause the transfers and you will be able to rearrange the items in the list by simple Drag&Drop.

BTW it is described in the help file.

Pause was the magic function that did the trick.

files are copied parallel, not one after other.
queue is not paused when next files are copied-so HDD is loud and process is longer.

I think you are using the "Background" button of a running copy/move process.
If you instead use the background transfer manager using the F2 key/button to start the process, the files should be copied one after another.

When you do that, the default copy mode (when pressing F5) is to put the files in the background manager queue (as if you have pressed F5 and then F2). If you have selected that mode however, when you drag/drop a file from one panel to the other, the copy is being done in the background (as if you have started a normal copy and then pressed the background button in the copy progress window) and not through the background manager. The reason for doing that has been discussed in the past AFAICR and Christian had stated that he believes it's more convenient that way.

Good idea, if you plan to use the background queue every time.
This automatically adds newly started copy jobs to a maybe existing BTM queue.
After you pause the transfer there, you can also resort the queue using drag&drop.
