drive button bar and mapped network drives

Post by *adacom »

have the usual C, D and a few more fixed drives but have about 12 mapped network drives

this makes for a lot of buttons in the button bar - is there any way to not show the mapped drives apart from disconnecting from them

i access them via network neighberhood icon so the buttons [whilst there] are never used

thanks

tony

Help file wrote: DriveBarHide=
Allows to hide certain parts of the button bar:
A-Z=drives
0-9=ftp
\ =Network Neighborhood
. =parent+root dir
- =volume label and free/total space

Contrary to the Allowed= option, the drives remain accessible via drive dropdown list (Alt+F1/F2), the "cd" command etc.
Of course: such entry should be placed in your wincmd.ini file, under [Configuration] section.

In wincmd.ini under [Configuration] use the following line:

Code: Select all

DriveBarHide=XYZ
XYZ should be replaced with the drive letters you want to hide from the drive bar.

Hello, smok3.

Add / modify the parameter HideRemovableNoMedia in the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file according to your needs, please.
TC help section '4b wincmd.ini' wrote:HideRemovableNoMedia=0
When !=0, removable drives like USB card readers will not be shown unless a medium is inserted. Note that CD-ROM drives and floppy disk drives will always be shown. Apply to:
1: Drive button bar
2: Drive dropdown list
3: Both
This function may be very slow with certain drives, so turn it off if you notice any slowdown.
Kind regards,
Karl
