Sorry for having to post questions in this area again. But you never know if it can be done, unless it's asked.
I have these files...
01013KN7.CMP
01013KN7.LSW
01013KN7.MSP
01013KN7.PMT
01013KN7.TM
02023KN7.CMP
02023KN7.LSW
02023KN7.MSP
02023KN7.PMT
02023KN7.TM
And want to rename to this...
11013KN7.CMP
11013KN7.LSW
11013KN7.MSP
11013KN7.PMT
11013KN7.TM
12023KN7.CMP
12023KN7.LSW
12023KN7.MSP
12023KN7.PMT
12023KN7.TM
The first 2 digits will be the only part of the filename that will be renamed. The rest of the filename stays the same.
The first problem is that the first two digits are in a group set that needs to be same. Does this rule out using the Counter [C]?
The second problem is, the 3rd and 4th digits are the same as the first two digits but has to remain the same. Does this rule out using Search For/Replace With?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Muli-Rename special files (again)

I see that only first character of filenames has changed...
Answer:
In these examples, that's right, but not always the case.
Thanks, for your reply,
TotCom Request: Is it possible to have the multi-rename have a way to rename a group set of files? In the above examples, that would mean, to have it rename 01 groupset of five files, this would then allow the use of the counter. That would change 5 files with the first two position from 01 to 11. Then 02 to 12 on the next set of 5. Of course this would mean, the groupset files would have to be the same, in this case, 5. Something to ponder...

Currently it's not possible, sorry. It would mean fractional step rates, e.g. 1/5 steps (rounded down). I will check whether this could be added.
