Resizing "Find Files" window marks several fields

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Resizing "Find Files" window marks several fields

Post by *RADiCAL »

Reproduction Information:
1. Click ALT+F7 to open the Find Files window.
2. Resize the window.
3. Heed the fields:
* "Search in" textbox value will be marked.
* "Find text" textbox value will be marked even though the checkbox is unticked.

This is bad user experience.

Workarounds:
* Search in - unmark.
* Find text - you have to tick the checkbox before you can unmark the value.

Not confirmed, neither with normal nor with fresh ini. TC7pb2.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hacker, StickyNomad
Please, try with fresh INI and do the following:
1. Open Find Files dialog; specify any name (e.g. "asd") and any text to search (e.g. "dsa").
2. Start search, then stop it.
3. Resize the dialog. The text in all three text fields (name, path, text) becomes selected.

OK, I can confirm that.

Thanks. I also can confirm this now, and not only with a clean ini.

You could not reproduce it even when starting from scratch ?
I understood it might have occurred to others (e.g. Hacker).

You understood right, the issue occured on my machine too, indeed.

But ghisler didn't say he couldn't reproduce the problem, he just stated he couldn't find its reason. As least as far as I understand his remark :)

Indeed I could reproduce it, but I found no trace in my code of what could be causing it, not even in the Delphi component library. It must be some obscure Windows bug. :(
