System Restore

Hi, I have Total Commander on a boot up cd wich is the Bart PE version. Please could anyone tell me if it is possible to perform a System Restore from the Total Commander program, and if this is not possible, how do i find out what might be stopping Windows XP from booting up using either of these programs.
