[Bug] Incorrect text selection in copy/move dialog

Post by *tleepa »

Hi,

I have noticed strange behavior as in subject.
Here is a link for a compressed video of the bug.

Actions described in the movie:
- issue move action on the file in right panel (the file with long name would be best to observe the effect but it is reproducible on any file and on both copy and move dialogs)
- move the cursor so the whole path is unselected (not needed but imagine that you want to select the part of the filename from the end)
- now hold Ctrl and Shift and move the cursor left selecting the words
- in somewhere in the middle release Ctrl key and try select the text by character
- you will see that the text is selected on the right end of the path not where you released the Ctrl key.

I am using Windows XP Professional SP2 and TC 7.02.

Regards,
Leepa

Already discussed. Unfortunately, it can't be fixed easily. :(

Detailed thread about this: http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=14719

Workaround: marking only in direction left-to-right seems to avoid this problem.

P.S.: Still hoping for an option to get back the "old" and working version...
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

It has been added in 7.03: new CtrlArrow key.

Confirmed working :),
CtrlArrow=0 in the INI [Configuration] uses the standard windows method.
Thanks for the hint.

Additionally, as I just found out, there's a workaround already since version 7.00: Alt+Ctrl+Shift+cursor_left (instead of Ctrl+Shift+cursor_left),
which seems to do the same temporarily whenever needed.
