Unable to delete the start menu link

Post by *ackid32 »

By accident there is a hidden link (for Today) was created in the \windows\Start Menu folder. I could not view the link also. But in the start menu it show Today as a first link. I think the link (.lnk) was a hidden & system attribute. How can i remove the .lnk file?

Moreover when i click on that Today - that was not working

If you're on Windows XP check:
1. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Start\
2. C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Menu Start\
3. C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR ACCOUNT NAME>\Menu Start\

Be sure to check in TC:
Configuration -> Display -> Show hidden/system files

If it's not working then you should check Scheduler in Control Panel. Maybe it created that entry (I doubt it).

TC Pocket shows hidden/system files just fine. But this "Today" link is probably not a normal lnk file. You should be able to hide it via Start - Settings - Menus.

It is a part of the WM6 shell and cannot be removed. Use QuickMenu or Wisbar Advance for better customization.
