[BUG] Special Characters

Post by *kgh »

to reproduce:

1. Create a file with a "č" in. maybe: "d'aprčs Monsieur Czerny.mp3"
2. Alt-F7 --> Search *.mp3
3. Alt-W --> "Anwenden"
4. Delete the file

--> "Can't find file" etc.

Confirmed.

The "search result "/"feed to listbox" display shows a filename different from the original :
"d'aprcs Monsieur Czerny.mp3" instead of "d'aprčs Monsieur Czerny.mp3"

Creating the original file raised a warning message blaming a different codepage.

Hopefully this is caught by the upcoming TC 7.5 release which will support unicode notation way better ...

This is indeed a limitation of the search function, which does not support Unicode at all at this time. Only TC 7.50 will support it.

Hello, Christian. Hello, kgh.

Follwed these steps:
kgh wrote:1. Create a file with a "č" in. maybe: "d'aprčs Monsieur Czerny.mp3"
2. Alt-F7 --> Search *.mp3
3. Alt-W --> "Anwenden"
4. Delete the file
Worked flawlessly. The file has been deleted.

+ Windows Vista Home Premium, 32bit, GER
+ Total Commander v7.50 Public Beta 1

So I assume we consider this problem solved. The search dialogue in T.C. now supports Unicode and can handle such file/foldernames.

Kind regards,
Karl
