Breadcrumb Operation Questions

Post by *harrismail »

1. Is it not possible to start the breadcrumb by a hotkey?

2. How come when you open the breadcrumb with the mouse you have to move the pointer to the right hand side of each directory before it expands !! This would drive me nuts as I always hover my mouse over the left hand side of such directory structures and never on the right hand side? How about an option to turn this on or off so it expands the folders when the mouse is over any part of the folder name?

3. If the focus is on the oposite pane then if you click on the breadcrumb arrow on the pane that isn't focused you have to first click once to get focus and then again to open it. This doesn't happen with such things as the drive buttons etc.

For question 2, you can use this in your WinCmd.ini file :

BreadcrumbSeparator=-3 allows to set the location of the breadcrumb separator behind which the subdirs expand when hovering with the mouse: 0..100: width in percent, <0 : measured from the end in units of line height

In particular, if you use BreadcrumbSeparator=0, then the whole column is "sensible" to hovering.

Thanks once again people :-)

Number 3 isn't too big a deal but it would be nice if it could work like the drive buttons..

BTW I can't seem to get BreadcrumbSeparator=0 to work - even when I enter this into the ini you have to still hover to the right of the directory for it to open it?

Is there something I'm missing? I've put this in the ini file but is there any particular place for it to go? I've put it underneath BreadCrumbBar=1 in the layout section?

Any ideas?

The BreadcrumbSeparator option must be put in the [Configuration] section of your WinCmd.ini file.
Then, restart Total Commander, and it should be fine ;-)
