Lister: search uses wrong character set in ASCII files

Post by *StatusQuo »

(Reminded of this bug/feature by this post)

Symptom: local special characters (like german umlauts) are not found in ASCII files (like *.bat) using Lister's search function.

The edit box with the search term seems to always use ANSI character set, even if the file is displayed in ASCII/DOS character set.
So in the search dialog for ASCII files you have to enter the term like it would be displayed in the wrong character set (ASCII viewed in ANSI).
Using copy&paste from the displayed ASCII file the search works, but the search string is displayed in the wrong character set in the edit box (local special characters are unreadable).

Will this (automatically) be fixed in TC 7.5 using Unicode?

Probably yes, because the input dialog will use Unicode. I will check it, though.
