Transfer speed of a large (>4GB) file to an SMB share over a GB network:
- Win explorer: ~55MB stable
- Total Commander(also use big file copy mode): vary between 28-42MB/sec and jumping up and down
- Total Commander(default copy method): ~29MB/sec stable
There is no any firewall or antivirus sw installed.
Do you have an idea why is that?
Thank you in advance!
Win Explorer transfer to an SMB share is much faster?!

Recommendation:
"Configuration -> Options..: Operation,Copy/Delete"
[x] Use compatibility mode for the following drives
* (all drives) or \ (network only)
This should be faster than any manual optimization, and in some cases (special NAS drives) more secure.
BTW: This is the default copy method for TC7.5:

Thank you Holger! This was fixed the issue.
I wish I had find out earlier that my slow network transfers are caused by TC. I was strugling for a year to find out the reason.
I installed XP, Vista, Windows 7 numerous times, and Linux.
It was only OK on Linux, so I was always looking for windows tweaks.
Unfortunately I was always trying to transfer by TC on Windows, until yesterday, when I was copy something via Win explorer by accident.
You can imagine, that I was shocked
So making CopyFileEx copy method default in 7.5 was a very good move. (I also tried to copy something on the same disk (target+source), and it was also a lot more faster with compatibility mode checked).
Thank you again for your quick and efficient help!
