Vista: Slow Access to "Network" in Breadcrumb Bar

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Vista: Slow Access to "Network" in Breadcrumb Bar

Post by *Matthias030 »

When running TC 7.5pb1 under Windows Vista it takes a long time to display contents of "Network Neighborhood" in breadcrumb bar. If I click Network Neighborhood Icon in Drive Bar, contents are displayed immediately.

With same configuration in Windows XP there is no delay in breadcrumb bar.

Here are contents of wincmd.ini

BreadcrumbDelayButton=-500
BreadcrumbDelayVirtual=200
BreadcrumbDelayFtp=200
BreadcrumbdelayPlugin=200
BreadcrumbDelayDir=0

Unfortunately Network Neighborhood is indeed slow like a slug on Vista. I had to load it in the background to make it at least partially usable in the file panels. Unfortunately this is impossible in the breadcrumb bar, I cannot enlarge it once it's loaded. :(

Unfortunately I cannot increase the speed, but in the newer betas you should now be able to abort the loading of the network connections when you went there by mistake. Can anyone test this, please?
