Post by *kalkzone »

Hi,

as TC is often used to sort and manage files,
sometimes "a manual walking through a lot of different directories" is nessesary.

sometimes one controls directories by clicking for a look if there is a duplicate or converted file or so

in this case, may be in others

a column beside Name, Extension, Date (id so configured) could indicate wether a directory is EMPTY AT ALL or not

simply indicated be "1" or "0"

wether a directory is empty or not shoud be a NOT THAT CPU consuming action / might only be used AS OPTIONAL

so one could save clicking a directory

thanx in advance

If you don't use them they don't take computing time. The question is how do you define not using? The plugin doesn't use a background process or something like that - I'm not sure if this is what you were asking for.

Please note that the plugins comes with a configuration tool that let you choose between automatic (default) and on demand loading of values. It also allows you to turn off the cache (turned on by default).
There are powerful new on demand commands in TC 7.5 for on demand loading of values (all files or all selected):
http://lefteous.totalcmd.net/tc/docs/dirsizecalc/readme.htm#use_cases_load_fields_on_demand
More usage examples can be found in the documentation.
