TC is resetting width changes of Custom Columns

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC is resetting width changes of Custom Columns

Post by *wirksamekraft »

PB6 and older versions are forgetting width changes of Custom Columns over an exit and restart of TC.

An ugly workaround is this:
After resizing the columns, open the custom column configuration, then TC does not forget your new settings...

Cannot confirm ! TC always uses the settings of your stored custom column configuration.

If you want to change your optimized settings, you have to explicitly save it again.

It works as designed ...

Hello sga_wizard,
OK. Saving the settings does indeed help. TC works as designed, but its behaviour is not what an ordinary user expects.

I could think of a warning message on close of TC, if you have changed settings but did not save it.

Sometimes it is bad when changes are saved immediately - for example if user sets bad widths and wants to discard changes.

Try to use menu command 'Configuration - Save position' after resizing columns.

I did not propose to save all settings immediately, instead I suggest that TC opens a warning window on exit, if there are unsaved settings (The user should indeed be able to turn of this behaviour).

You can save the column widths with both menus:
Configuration - Save position
and
Configuration - Save settings.

TC does NOT remember any column widths on exit. This is by design, so the user has a way to return to normal widths when he reduced some columns to 0 width by mistake.
