Options for auto-generating MD5 comparison after copying

Post by *Fuzbolero »

Would save a lot of time if TC could offer a way to automatically have MD5 logs and checks done after copying files.

Could be a tick mark in the copy dialog, with some settings in the preferences. (also for FTP..!?, if possible)

The following could be customization options in preferences:

1. Store MD5 comparison results into separate files, one for each location (saves each MD5 calculation on one line just like the current function, file by file into one txt file, saving it with the name of the top-level directory and the drive letter, with a reference to left/right pane, into both locations? (both txt files saved into both left pane and right pane?)

2. Option to set a default to run MD5 comparisons in the background or as separate window, so that we can continue to work with TC while the calculation goes on.

3. Automatic comparison of the resulting MD5 files with confirmation dialog on any differences, errors or success. Option to log this comparison to a file and shut down both TC and (or, optionally) the whole computer after the process is finished.

++Support.

The md5 collections could be treated similar to files.bbs. How to name those files and if they should be kept or deleted after successful compare (in source and/or destination) might be worth some options.
