BTM - Background Transfer Manager

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

BTM - Background Transfer Manager

Post by *bop sprengers »

BTM :
when adding items, overwrite confirmationdialog 'dances' around the screen,
depending on location of BTM. This is difficult to work with; one expects
this kind of windows to appear in a fixed location. Following BTM's location
is useless: that window is invisible because TC overlays it.

I read http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=23055, and the question remains : why not give the dialog a fixed place ? Currently it is almost as bad as Mikeysoft's new Office interface: a 'try to find the button' game.

Sorry, the dialog is shown centered below the BTM dialog. This is intentional.

What is the use of this ? I would understand it if both dialogs were visible at the same time, but on my XP system that's not the case.

The idea is that when there are multiple background transfers, the user knows to which of them the dialog belongs to...

I think it will be easier if BTM dialog can remember its position. So, once user moves BTM window, confirmations are shown in the same place because BTM window keeps its position.
