TC 7.50 RC2: Internal Assotiations & Templates

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC 7.50 RC2: Internal Assotiations & Templates

Post by *Maximus »

I have Template "Text" defined as "*.txt;*.lng;*.mnu;*.log;*.ini;*.inc".
I associate (Internal Associations) this Template with external editor (SciTE).
I want to add new extension for Template:
- open "Find Files" dialog (Alt+F7)
- go to "Load/Save" tab
- load my "Text" template
- go to "General" tab
- add new extension (*.inf): "*.txt;*.lng;*.mnu;*.log;*.ini;*.inc;*.inf"
- go to "Load/Save" tab
- save Template with name "Text"
- close "Find Files" dialog
I press Enter or double-clicking on the file with new extension (inf) and I have opening file with system associated application (Notepad).
After restart of TC: association with changed Template is applied and works as need.

Sorry, the internal associations are cached, so they aren't reloaded when you change search on the search page. Currently I don't have any plans to change that. To notify TC about the changes, you need to edit the saved search from within the "Internal associations" dialog.
