[bug?] Hardlinks deletion

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[bug?] Hardlinks deletion

Post by *DrShark »

To reproduce:
1. Open dir with first file in left panel and another dir with file hardlinked to first in right panel.
Delete the file in right panel - it wil be deleted ok.
2. Try then to delete the first file in left panel - a dialog will appear asking to skip the file.
3. But after restarting TC, it will display the dir without file - so the file was actually removed...

Can somebody reproduce this strange behavior?

Maybe you have some addon that opens file for retrieving some information? I'd never seen such bug.

This can indeed happen sometimes when a file is opened by some addon or other program. Sometimes Windows then deletes the file when it is closed. I couldn't find out yet why this happens, maybe it's because of some special sharing mode or so.

I have Link Shell Extension installed, may it get some influence on Windows?
I will test more to find a 100% way for reproducing the problem...
