TC 7.5 RC1: access violation

Post by *yyang »

Environment: Windows XP SP3 Simplified Chinese

To reproduce:
1. Make an empty folder in one panel (e.g. "destined").
2. Create its shortcut in the opposite panel ("destined.lnk").
3. Delete the folder ("destined").
4. Press Ctrl+Up on "destined.lnk". A "Missing shortcut" dialog (from Windows?) will pop up. Press Cancel. Another dialog (from TC) will appear, complaining something like "unreachable place". Press OK.
5. Immediately (most of the time) or after some random operation, TC will have an access violation or freeze.

Cannot confirm in XP SP3 german (TC 7.50 RC1), sorry.

TC keeps working normally here after the two messages/dialogs.
Maybe it depends on special characters in the used path?
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

BTW, it also applies to TC v7.04.

After step 4 the file panel where you've pressed Ctrl+Up on "destined.lnk" no longer works normally. It doesn't respond to keypresses and mouse clicks within file list and doesn't show contents after switching to a new tab.

I could reproduce the problem, thanks. It's caused by that exra Windows dialog, which causes a refresh during a directory read.
