Cannot get LinkInfo to work

Post by *interDist »

Please explain how to activate this plugin, opening LNK files in Lister does not show the information this plugin has to extract. Changing view mode to "image/multimedia" jumps back to regular text.

Tried on TC 5.5, 5.51 and 6.0 , same result.

You install it like every other lister plugin, nothing special just read the text file...
Activate 'Load bitmaps on startup' in lister configuration to make it load at once after pressing F3 without the need to press '4'.

Version 1.21 is the latest, maybe you missed an update?

Edit:
Why don't you read the answer to your questions here:

What is this question about now then??? Strange.

"Load bitmats at startup" is activated, but even after pressing '4' it does not show the info. I've the most recent verion 1.21 (d/l a few days ago) and I' ve already installed several plugins so I know how it is done.

In the thread pointed byyou there is no answer to my problem, and I write it in a different thread to draw any attention.

The answer that the author of the plugin will check it on winME is not an answer for you? Well, to me it's pretty obvious that your problem is probably related to Win98 and that's exactly what Flint told you.

Maybe I'm wrong and don't get the point? Well, good luck anyway.

I tested on Win2k and Win98 and on neither it worked. What kind of a plugin it is that it works only on WinXP??!!

What kind of operating system do you run?

I have this exact same problem. I'm using Windows NT 4.0. I've tried everything but to no avail.

On W2K (SP4 all patches, german version) it is working.

This is how my wincmd.ini in [ListerPlugins] section looks like:
2=C:\Programme\TotalCMD\WLX\LinkInfo.wlx
2_detect="force | (ext="LNK")"

And in [Lister] section:
BmpStartup=1
Multimedia=1
RTF=1

ON W98(SE) I have not tested yet.

Best regards
Pete

Sorry for my late answer... This plugin works not only under WinXP. I cannot catch this problem; on all computers that I can access it works fine. I've tested the systems: WinME, Win2kSP4, WinXP, WinXPSP1, Win2003. Unfortunately, I cannot help in this situation. :( Maybe, it will be found soon, then I will be able to make smth about it.
