TC 7.50 a fin crash on opening MP3

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

How do you "open" such MP3 files?

If by using F3 then it should be a problem with AIMP player which is called in TC UP.

If by using QuickView (Ctrl+Q) or lister (Ctrl_Shift+F3), it is worth to mention which plugins you've got installed. For me it seems like a problem with Mmedia.wlx plugin but I might be wrong.

P.S. I think this may be a rule to ask about "packs" on their pages because they can completely modify TC behaviour in unexpected ways and it can always be fault of software bundled within.

P.S.2. Keyboard shortcuts mentioned in this post are TC UP specific.

Hi,

opening files - in my case at least - is by hitting enter with the file selected, which is (I think) equivalent to double left click.

I've reported it on the TC forum as it is TC that throws the error, not AIMP. And it is TC that requests posting the error. Maybe there is an issue when TC calls AIMP2 to play the MP3 file. That may be - but it is still something that TC could be handling a bit nicer than throwing an exception to the user.

Yes, it is like this since manhood exists: the messenger is blamed and killed always, not the causer :(

Former versions of TC simply died without notification, without any hint.
Since TC 7.50, most of the exceptions (own and from others started by TC) are caught and reported.

I am with you, to report it at TC forum, but i agree with fenix_productions that this bug is related to starting AIMP Player and should be reported (additionally) at the according pages.

Needless to say, that I'm too not a friend of such "Mega-all-inclusive"-Packs, which are usually causing more harm than benefit.
Actually you are using just 10% of its functionality, but get 90% bloat and instability included.

OK, I have analyzed your report: Windows was running out of memory when you tried to open a large ZIP file with ENTER (no trace of any mp3 file). The error "Delphi exception: EOutOfMemory " occurred when TC tried to allocate more memory to hold the list of files of that ZIP.
