Context Menu & cm_DirBranch

Post by *Balderstrom »

I've noticed a problem with the context menu when right-clicking after cm_DirBranch has been used. There are missing items,

In Explorer, right-click on PDF
Open
Add to TypeAndRun...
Run Sandboxed
EmEditor
Open With -->
WinRar -->
--------------
Quick mount
Mount...
--------------
Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
--------------
Unlocker
--------------
(then the usual, Cut, Copy, Create Shortcut, Delete, Rename, Properties)
In Total Commander, right-click on PDF
13encounters.pdf
Add to TypeAndRun...
Run Sandboxed
EmEditor
View (Lister)
Open With -->
WinRar -->
--------------
Quick mount
Mount...
--------------
Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
--------------
Unlocker
--------------
(then the usual, Cut, Copy, Create Shortcut, Delete, Rename, Properties)
After using cm_DirBranch, things change quite a bit in TC:
13encounters.pdf
Explore
Run Sandboxed
Search Everything...
Explore with FileBoss
Search...
View (Lister)
--------------
Sharing
WinRAR -->
Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
--------------
Unlocker
--------------
(then the usual, Cut, Copy, Create Shortcut, Delete, Rename, Properties)
Primarily disconcerting is the lack of "Open with -->"
When right-clicking on a Folder in TC, the Context Menu is very similiar to what is seen when right-clicking on a File after cm_DirBranch.

Interestingly, after a Search within TC and Feed to listbox, right-clicking on a file in the Results list produces a normal Context Menu for a file -- unlike the same files after cm_DirBranch which creates a Context Menu that you should get for a Folder.

NB ColorCode:
Red = Items missing in the 3rd List.
Green = Items NEW in the 3rd List (not present in 1st or 2nd).

As I can remember, this was discussed recently, and problem is valid only for files in subdirs. E.g. if you use cm_DirBranch and then open context menu for files in root folder of branch, all work fine.

Understood!! Total Commander opens subfolder context menu instead for files in that subfolder!!!

Yes, that's correct, it depends on the shell extension (from Microsoft or third party) how it works with files in subdirs...

Why you dont change the current dir to the location of the file for each Context menu call?

This would work with just one selected file, or all in the same dir, but not with multiple files from separate dirs. I will try it when the user has selected just one.

Your right - I forget about selecting more then 1 file.
I will try it when the user has selected just one.
Sounds good.

TC 7.55b1 shows right shell extension fields in context menu of files in subfolders after Ctrl+B.
