CRC verification does not abort

Post by *wanderer »

Create one crc file (i.e. MD5) of a large number of files. After the process finishes, move it on another drive (where those files do not exist). Try to verify the files by doubleclicking on the .md5 file. TC starts displaying some dots until the whole crc file gets loaded and then starts displaying several "cannot open input file" messages in the window. If at that point, the "abort" button is pressed, the "user abort" dialog is not displayed, instead the process continues normally, adding more "cannot open input file" messages. The "Abort" button has now turned to "Close". The window can be closed by clicking the button though.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3
x64: Clients/Servers from Win7 to Win11 and Win2K12Srv to Win2K22Srv, mainly Win10 though.

Indeed CRC-checking can only be aborted when some files are checked, sorry.

Hi Christian.

IMO, this is irregular behavior since the job of the Abort button is to abort the process. This should be done regardless of whether a file is actually being checked. Will it be corrected in the next TC version?

Indeed I have added it to my bug list, sorry if this wasn't clear. I just confirmed that you cannot stop the check when there is nothing to be checked...

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
