+Option (WatchDirs) is not working every time

Post by *Matthias030 »

With new beta 8.50b1, I have problems that filesizes are not updated correctly with option (WatchDirs) "Laufwerksüberwachung" is enabled.

To test, download this file in Firefox or Internet Explorer and watch its download directory in TC:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/synwrite/files/Release/SynWrite.rar/download

After finishing download, Firefox shows filesize of 1024 Bytes, Internet Explorer shows 0 Bytes. I need to make manual reload of directory to show correct filesize.

It seems to work properly with small files (lower than 5MB).

Unfortunately this is a known problem with no solution - Windows doesn't always send these refresh messages reliably.

I just wondering if there are changes made in 8.50b1. I never had this problem with TC 8.01. It's reproduceable for me. 8.01 works fine, 8.50b1 not

I thought that you were refering to the update during the download - that's a problem with Windows. However, there also seems to be problem when the download finishes (size remains zero). That seems to be a new problem in 8.5. I moved a lot of processing to a background thread, so this may be a negative side effect. I will check it. However, these are very complex functions, so it may take several beta versions until it works properly.
