Allow arbitrary hotkeys for start menu

Post by *avada »

Hi!

It would be nice if the start menu would allow arbitrary hotkeys. Especially since the dedicated hotkeys feature for whatever reason is so limited. (It only allows internal commands.)

Also the hotkeys can be set to conflict between the two. Start menu vs. misc > hotkeys. In which case apparently the latter takes precedence.

Also some more practicality would be nice. Dragging items into it much like the button bar, for example

The start menu is a legacy. Edit the main menu instead.

... but keep in mind that custom hotkeys written to MNU file won't work until they are defined via Configuration/Misc page.

Is that the thing in the language section? It just looks like the configuration file for the TC's menubar. Won't that be overwritten by a TC update?

AKA, you can't define hotkeys in the MNU file. Isn't that just for the hint?

Anyway I don't see how it is an improvement if I still need to rely on the misc/hotkey stuff, which can only do internal commands.

You should name your file differently to keep it safe during TC updates. Standard naming scheme is WCMD_<your_custom_text>_<lng_suffix>.lng, e.g. WCMD_avada_ENG.lng.

Yes, it is just for the hint, and it is useful when you know standard hotkey or define a custom one for a command.
