Download this file: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/tcnoarrow.icl

Put this line in the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file:
IconLib=%COMMANDER_PATH%\tcnoarrow.icl

Delete any other lines with "iconlib=" in it, that you might have in your wincmd.ini.

If you have an "OldListIcons=0" line in your wincmd.ini change it to "OldListIcons=1"

You can find the location of your wincmd.ini file in the menu under "Help" -> "About Total Commander"

I think Joeyy wants to hide ".." item at all, not only its arrow icon, and there is no way to do it for all folders, there is only an option for root folders.

Yes, you are right. Sorry for my vague expression.

Hello,

You have an option for that but only for the root.
Go in Configuration > Options > Display
uncheck "Show parent dir [..] also in root of drive"

With my knowledge, in other cases it is not possible.

If it is so, I hope the option can be added in the future. I think it's not necessary to keep this symbol since we can use the Backspace key. Maybe I'm wrong.

This option for root folders there only because root folders don't have physical parent folders. Backspace key may be used, yes, but ".." item has its benefits, e.g. it has folder context menu.

I mainly use ".." for moving files to parent dir via drag'n'drop to "..".
So, yes, there is still a need for it.
