A minor bug in TC9(64)GUI Find Files/Advanced

Post by *Jivan_Mukta »

1. A minor bug in 'Find duplicate files' in the box 'Same contents'

2. There is WinRar and UnRAR v.5.40final, but UnRAR in TC is still 5.40beta2

3. The Ctrl+Shift+Q is neither documented in the Help file, section 'Keyboard Layout' not in the files KEYBOARD.TXT and TASTEN.TXT

For the points 2 & 3 I apologize to Mr. Ghisler, if he have planed to do this at the final moment.

Thanks for your reports. In the future, please submit separate messages for each bug report, otherwise I cannot move them to "fixed" if only one of them is fixed...

What is the bug?
Only in TC9 x64

I refrain from pointing out other differences between x86 and x64 GUI, because they rather might due to the compilers than the differences in program codes.

If it is the missing left border of the checkbox, I don't see it here:
http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/samecontents7.png (Windows 7)
http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/samecontents81.png (Windows 8.1)
http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/samecontents10.png (Windows 10)

It may be because of your setting of "Dialog box scaling" og Dialog box font" or your system seetting for scaling, font or theme.

Whenever reporting GUI problems it is a good idea always to inform about Windows Version, Windows theme and non standard settings of font and scaling both system wide and within TC's configuration.

I found some dependence what the bug is related with.

My configuration is Windows 10 RS1 and TC main ini containg

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
OverrideDPI=108

[AllResolutions]
RedirectSection=0
FontSize=10
FontName=Segoe UI Semibold
FontSizeWindow=9
FontNameWindow=Segoe UI
FontCharsetWindow=204
FontWeight=600
FontWeightWindow=700
FontNameDialog=Segoe UI Semibold
FontCharset=204
FontCharsetDialog=204
FontWeightDialog=600
When I switch off Set DPI in the new TC9 option 'Dialog box Scaling' in menu Configuration/Fonts the square becomes normal (the line OverrideDPI=108 disappears from the ini-section [Configuration]).

It turned out that when Set DPI is switched on the left border of the square is missing only for some critical values
Alt+F7 DPI: 79,108,109,113,122,126,139,143,144,145
Alt+Shift+F7 DPI: 78,95,108,112,121,125,138,142,144
I checked the interval 72-150 for TC9 x64. During this test all other boxes in search window remained normal.

For DPI=108 I also checked for various fonts but the box 'same contents' remained without left border.
------------
Why OverrideDPI= is not moved from [Configuration] to section [AllResolutions] ?

Looks like rounding errors when the dialogs are scaled. I will add 1 extra pixel distance.
