You only can create a custom command that will open %COMMANDER_INI% in desired editor.

Ok, mine was a suggestion.
Again a suggest to eliminate ftp.ini and open only wincmd.ini. I never change ftp.ini for this way.

I support the idea of opening ini files for editing in user selected editor. I think about it in this way: author good knows that users prefer more 'muscular' editors than Notepad, so he gave them the opportunity to change editor. Question is, why not to use them for editing of the most crucial files, the ini files of TC.

Also moving the menu item "Changing FTP.ini File Directly" into the Net menu, FTP subsection and letting the "Change Setting File Directly" only for wincmd.ini has my support. How many of as at least once edited both files simultaneously?
The best solution:
1. format C:
2. install TotalCmd
3. install Windows (optionally)
