[9.0 final] Status bar flickering on click

Post by *SUKER »

Hi, with new version, I have a problem:
whole status bar is flickering when left clicking anywhere on file list. It's really annoying :)
Video (not so good noticeable, but anyway): https://youtu.be/c3WrHER7Zv0
T.C. 9.0 Final 32 bit. Windows 7 prof. x64.

----------------------- UPD -----------------------

9.0 and 8.52a are working the same.
File under cursor (under black dotted rectangle) is flickering too on x64.

Windows 7 theme:
All working good.

Windows classic theme:
x64 - both status bar and file under cursor are flickering.
x32 - only status bar is flickering.

Windows 7 basic theme:
x64 - only file under cursor is flickering.
x32 - only status bar is flickering.

Strange, looks like TC is calculating something.
1. Did you press Alt+Shift+Enter?
2. What theme do you use?

Yea, on previous version all ok.
1. No.
2. That's the problem. I use custom theme. I found this:
In "windows 7" theme - all work fine.
In "Windows 7 basic" - flickering.
In "Windows classic" - flickering.

Yes, you are right. But further more...

Windows 7 basic theme:

Both TC 9.0 and TC 8.52a x32 are flickering.
Both of them, but x64 are working good
I will edit 1 post...

You can reproduce this with x64 too, but you'll need to click much faster.

I click as fast as I can, but on my system with basic theme + x64 status bar not flickering. I notice more strange things with all of this - file under cursor is flickering too on x64  I will update 1 post to clarify.

Well, the footer is updated when you left click, which seems to be causing the flickering. I don't know whether this can be reduced somehow...

Oh :( , and why it depends on theme and bit (x32/x64) of the app?

Something related to V-sync? It is disabled for desktop when using a clasic or basic theme on Win7, so tearing occurs.

Suker, do you have a nVidia VGA?

x86 and x64 versions of TC are coded in different languages (Delphi/Lazarus)
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3374)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

Just a little nitpicking: Not different languages (it's the same one), but just different compilers and linkers.

OK, think I can reduce the flickering by not updating the footer when the string stays the same.
