[9.0 and 8.52a] CompareMax=1 ignored if wincmd.ini is RO

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[9.0 and 8.52a] CompareMax=1 ignored if wincmd.ini is RO

Post by *MaxX »

When I run TC with read-only wincmd.ini, "CompareMax=1" is ignored by TC and compare dialog is NOT fullscreen.
Both finals 8.52a and 9.0 are affected.

I've also tried read-only wincmd.ini with only one parameter
[AllResolutions]
CompareMax=1
and got the same result ("1" is ignored).

The problem isn't read only here: TC ignores the Compare* entries unless there is at least CompareX present.

Also "SearchMax", "RenameMax" and "SyncMax" are affected too...
Can you fix this? At least don't ignore "*Max" parameters.

I have read-only network shared drives for some PCs and use TC from there (one for all of them).
There's no sense to define window positions due to diffrent screen resolutions and font scaling size.

Main TC window max position "maximized=1" works fine and does NOT need any additional *X or *Y entries...

No, this is by design to ensure that the position was properly saved.
