When using the option 'direct after filename' extensions are displayed directly after the separating dot. This works quite well but there is a case where I see room for improvement. When filenames are quite long TC has too cut them to make them fit into the reserved space. The reserved space here is the name column and the extension column. Ellipses are used to indicate that the filename has been cut.
Now where is the problem? The extension is cut. What about cutting only the filename but still display the extension? This would look like this e.g.:
