IllegalStateException when trying to start playlist from SD

Post by *WolfgangK »

When I try to start a playlist (m3u file) from the external SD card an IllegalStateException is shown. If I copy the m3u file and the mp3s it contains to the built in emulated card everything works fine.

I got this with the current version from the Playstore, then joined the beta program and updated to 2.80b4. The behavior remained the same.

I am using an Sony Xperia XZ with Android 6.0.1 installed.

Does anyone have the same problem? Or any suggestion what I could try?

Today I found something very strange. Suddenly I had on the home folder of Total Commander not only an SD-card entry pointing to /storage/emulated/0 and an SD-Karte (3831-6232) entry pointing to ///_SD-Karte but also an SD-card (2) entry pointing to /storage/3831-6232.

The last two both access the external card. And the second one works without a problem with the TC Media Player.

Only thing is I could swear that this one wasn't there before. I connected to a PC today the first time and I also pulled out the card and re-inserted it. One of those things must have done the trick. I just hope it doesn't vanish again.

Therefore just in case I still would like this fixed if possible. It seems to me when the TC Media Player gets called with an MP3 music file somebody takes care of changing ///_SD-Karte/Music... to 3831-6232:Music (since that is shown as the file path), but no one does this conversion for the M3U playlist or its contents.

Obviously since I have a work around there is no urgency.

///_SD-Karte is manually added via "+" entry. You can remove it.
/storage/3831-6232 is part of the file system.

And I added it (and forgot about it)bbecause the first time I wasn't patient enough for the other entry to appear automatically. Yes, that's possible. Ok, I removed it. Thank you.
