TC crash when try to access share

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC crash when try to access share

Post by *wolle »

Hi,

when I try to access a share e.g. like \\computer\c$ on a Windows 10 (!!) computer I get a windows message box which asks for credentials. After inserting the credentials TC crashes always :(

It probably has to do with the fact that per default it's not possible to access a c$-Share on a windows 10 machine.

After inserting on the target computer a DWORD32 value with "1" on this key here HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy I'm, able to access the share. But that has nothing to do with the TC behavior.

Other users have reported that too - it seems to be caused by a bad NVIDIA display driver:

Try updating the driver as this user did.

Hmm that could be possible. My old computer, which I replaced these days, had a NVIDIA Card, my new one does not have one.

I tried now to get the error once again but no chance any more. So it really could depend on the card driver. I'll keep an eye on it and will give feedback again if it happens once again.

I think you are right :)

Thanks :D
