Hotkey for cm_CompareFilesByContent does not work

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Hotkey for cm_CompareFilesByContent does not work

Post by *mmatrosov »

I assigned hotkey for Compare Files by Content command (cm_CompareFilesByContent) many years ago. It worked fine, but stopped working at some point in time, I cannot remember when.

See all the images here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3pzvt9crwpnot87/AACwhRP23tykdwNZgGh8n5hra?dl=0

Few things to mention:
1. I have the similar hotkey for cm_IntCompareFilesByContent and it works just fine and runs internal comparator
2. I have redefined comparison tool to KDiff3. Interestingly, I do not see such option in the settings, I only see it in the config file.
3. If I go to menu Files-> Compare by Content, it works fine and KDiff3 is exectued

So what's wrong with cm_CompareFilesByContent, why is it not working?

Maybe it is a problem with your choosen hotkey Ctrl+Alt+B? I use the key F9 and it works like a charm.

[Shortcuts]
CA+B=cm_IntCompareFilesByContent
CA+C=cm_CompareFilesByContent

Works fine here.

Maybe some program is hijacking Ctrl+Alt presses - probably software for your video card - that is often the case.

Sounds stupid, but F9 also works for me :)

petermad: any thoughts on how do I check this? I turned off several suspicious apps, but CA+C still does not work. While F9 works.
