Horst.Epp - On the other hand I know that fools with no sense to argue before the morons need to defend. Perhaps it is wise guys, but I feel persecuted when I read about some trolling. This is arrogance because I insult.

All managers file shows how many files occupy even the most ordinary Windows Explorer, but not Total Commander, which, as always, has many limitations.

I don't know what strange tools and settings you are using
but my Total Commander 9.0a x64 shows this information !
I say trolling because you are ask questions,
never answers if some one asks for details
and finally tells us about magic tools which are better than TC.
Why don't you just stop using TC
and use your hidden and so much better tools ?

Windows Explorer and TC
So the information about "74 417 items, 364GB" in your screenshot comes from Explorer - that was what I asked for!

My Exploret only calculates the size of selected items if NO directories are selected, otherwise it just shows the number of selected items. Your screenshot show both the number of selected items and a size, so if that is from Explorer it seems that you have only selected files, not dirs.

My TC shows the number of dirs AND the number of files, and how many of each category that are selected - plus by deafult, the space of the selected files - your screenshot shows that you had selected all directories and all files.

If you are either running DirSizeCalc, or have pressed Alt+Shift+Enter to have TC showing the space occupied in each dir, then TC will calculate and show the sum of the space of all the files in all the selected subdirs plus the the space of all selected files in the current dir.

Also remember that if there are files in the subdirs that matches your Ignore list, then they wil not be calculated if you use Alt+Shift+Space to calculate dir space, but they wil be calculated if you use DirSizeCalc.

Total Commander -> Files -> ALT+Enter
Here shows the Windows Explorer
Why it does not show this information in the main window of Total Commander?

In TC's program directory:
Press Alt+Shift+Enter
Press Insert on a directory
Press Alt+Enter
Press Alt+Tab
Press Ctrl+L
Press Alt+Tab

See: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/sizes3.png

Note:
218.832.202 bytes = 218.832.202/1024 = 213.703 k
218.832.202 bytes = 218.832.202/1024*1024 = 208M

If you have this configuration setup: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/sizes4.png (wincmd.ini: [Configuration] CountSpace=1)
then you don't have to press Alt+Shift+Enter to have the dir-space calculated for all dirs - pressing Space will mark the dir and calculate the space automatically.

When using Ctrl+L you don't need to have the dir space calculated in advance.

It is really not rocket science!

Slow calculates the total size of all subfolders compared to Explorer.
Notice that when you press Alt++Enter on a directory, Explorer keeps changing the numbers in the dialog window for a while while calculating.

I don't have directories with so many filea as you, my biggest directory is c:\Windows with 131.483 files in 28.559 directories, which it takes about 4 seconds for both TC and Explorer to calculate - so I expect that calculating your 918.757 files should taka about 21 seconds, which of course can seem like a long time - but it is a monstrous numer of files :!:

Calculate Occupied Space how to run in a separate process, as well as other tasks that do not hang the main window GUI.
