Top position of vertical button bar buttons

Post by *Lefteous »

Currently buttons in the vertical button bar are almost aligned to the very top of the folder tabs. For me this looks quite strange.

What about considering some kind of padding so the buttons would be aligned to the file list?

Not confirmed for Windows 10
I have to insert empty buttons on the top to align it.

The default button bar contains entries at the start to move the buttons down a bit. There isn't really a logical top position where the buttons should start, though.

That's interesting. In my case I added a button to the vertical button bar and wanted the new button to be the first item so I moved it to the top of the list. I didn't really payed attention to existing invisible buttons...
So based on the answers in this thread I would say the current solution is quite confusing.

To get the icons yiou see on the screenshot http://utceditors.totalcmd.net/temp/public/tc_forum/vbar.png you have to enable this setting: "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Icons" -> "Show drive icons from Explorer" (situated down in the bottom of the dialog)

Ok but that's NOT the same Drive Icons Style that ts4242 use:

Then the answer is not correct...

I see the difference - you must somehow have another system setting for your Explorer drive icons:

Here: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/explorer-driveicons.png you can see how the drive icons are the same in TC and Explorer - here under Windows 10.

I don't think so - here are my Windows 8.1 and 10 next to each other: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/driveicons81-10.png

My Windows 10 icons look like ts4242's: http://utceditors.totalcmd.net/temp/public/tc_forum/vbar.png

My Windows 8.1 icons does NOT look like islogged's: http://imgur.com/a/49oFf

EDIT: I figured it out - you get the turned drive icons you see in http://imgur.com/a/49oFf when the aspect ratio is increased from 100% to fx 125% (Windows Settings -> System -> Display -> "Change the size of text, apps..."). You have to sign in and out to see the effect in TC: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/driveiconsaspect125.png
