Lister: F2 changes view from 5 to 5+7 on some HTMs

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Lister: F2 changes view from 5 to 5+7 on some HTMs

Post by *DrShark »

Sample files (inside zip archives; used them before for my TC 8.5 bug reports, now they are re-uploaded):
utf8htm.zip
utf8htm2.zip
To reproduce:
1. open file in Lister using Alt+Shift+F3. It will be opened in "HTML text (strip tags)"+"UTF-8" view.
2. Switch to "HTML text (strip tags)" view using 5 key.
3. Press F2 to refresh: view swtiches back to "HTML text (strip tags)"+"UTF-8".

I think I will keep it this way - TC does some auto-detection of the format in the html extractor which switches to UTF-8 when detected. This happens every time the file is parsed again (also after re-loading).

What about htm files that has been created after simple merging of different documents? Such files may have text with different encodings.

To my knowledge, the HTML standard only supports one encoding per document.

Who in typical office will care about standarts? Its usually Ctrl+C->Ctrl+V from multiple sources, and the document is done...
