How to see FLV movie files / Ctrl-Q-quick-view?

Post by *lezerogan2 »

I have win 10 home 64 bit and TotCmd 8.52a 64 bit. Latest FlashPlayer is installed.
I would like to see FLV movie files via the Ctrl-Q-quick-view.

The old SWF-Lister-2.0 could do it but it is 32 bit and I can not find its 64 version.
I can not find any other plugin that can show FLV.

I installed MPC-HC.1.7.10.x64. I associate FLV to it. i changed TC view from internal to external.
Now I can see the FLV via MPC-HC in F3-view, but still can not see it in Ctrl-Q-quick-view.

Any idea?

wlx_mmedia_2.6.2.1.7z

Hello lezerogan2

IMHO here is what has been working best for me with TC 32 and/or 64 bit for quite a while now. Please try it and share if you wish :)

The short installation procedure is:

1. Download and automatically install my customised lister plugin wlx_mmedia_2.6.2.1.7z
2. Download and do a Full install of the latest free and open source LAV Filters 0.68.1 LAVFilters-0.68.1-Installer.exe
3. View or Quick View most of your multimedia file formats all within TC :D

For hints, tips, more detailed and advanced information including keeping it up to date please read my included readme.txt file:

Code: Select all

Multimedia Player Lister Plugin for Total Commander (32+64bit)

Version 2.6.2.1

Plays most multimedia formats in Total Commander Lister and Quick View Panel by
using Windows Media Player and LAV Filters.

Hint: press the 'F' key to switch between the two Mmedia display modes

Installation:

1. Open wlx_mmedia_2.6.2.1.7z in Total Commander and click Yes to
   automatically install the Lister plugin
2. Download and install the latest free and open source LAV Filters (Full
   install recommended) from the links given below
3. Advanced users can optionally tweak the Windows Registry to change some file
   extensions playback from manual start to automatic start as described in the
   Windows Registry Tips section below

Based on François GANNIER Mmedia Lister Plugin 2.6.2.0:
http://fg.tcplugins.free.fr/mmedia.htm

LAV Filters (32+64bit):

http://files.1f0.de/lavf/plugins/libmfxsw64-v1.7z

MediaInfo (32+64bit):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/
0.7.86.0:
MediaInfo32.dll:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/files/binary/libmediainfo0/0.7.86/MediaInfo_DLL_0.7.86_Windows_i386_WithoutInstaller.7z
MediaInfo64.dll:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/files/binary/libmediainfo0/0.7.86/MediaInfo_DLL_0.7.86_Windows_x64_WithoutInstaller.7z

Windows Registry Tips:

If some file extensions do not start playing automatically advanced users can
use Windows Registry Editor to change them from manual to automatic playback.

Look in registry branch:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions]

Extension .flv with manual playback start would be similar to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\.flv]
"Permissions"=dword:00000020

To change it to start playing automatically modify the registry to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\.flv]
"Runtime"=dword:00000001
"Permissions"=dword:00000001
