TC-FTP-client can not correctly resolve to IPv6-address?

Post by *Mantigora »

This is a question about the use of the inbuild FTP-client in Total Commander. (maybe I found a bug?)

Since I have IPv6 from my provider I like to connect to my Fritz!Box router where I have FTP(s) access.
For some reason that is unclear to me the connection fails when I make use of a domain-name in the Host name [:Port] section that resolves to an IPv6-address.

Before you say anything about resolving the name, everything else the same, it works without any problems in WinSCP.

I can connect fine with TC-FTP in the following cases:

IPv4-address
domain-name that resolves to IPv4-address
IPv6-address

but not to an domain name that resolves to an IPv6-address!

And, as said above, I specially installed WinSCP to test it and there it works fine in all cases.

I have tried 2 different domain-names that both resolve to the same IPv6-address (and they do! and I can ping them too in Windows 7 CMD.)

In one case it seems to resolve to the IPv4-address that the redirecting server is using.
In the other case I can see the correctly resolved IPv6-address but it ends with Client handshake failed: some long number with minus (-) in front of it.

Can someone check this, if they can (/not) do where I fail here?
I would be glad if someone could give an answer to this.

Could you post a log of the connection process?
