Automatic update check doesn't work AGAIN

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Confirmed.

Not even using "Menu" -> "Help" -> "Check for updates now" shows that TC 9.11 rc1 is available when checked from TC 9.10

In the professional world it is quite normal that only a selected number of users use (test) a pre-release version with still possible bugs. So Mr. Ghisler works very professionally when he shows to users of version 9.10 only the message that there is an update when version 9.11 is ready.

Help - windmd.ini:
AutoUpdateCheck=0
1: Check for updates, release and beta versions
2: Check for updates, only release versions
My TC-instalations are set to check for updates, release and beta versions - so of course that is what I expect.

Unfortunately there is a bug in TC 9.0 and 9.0a: It would report beta versions also when the user has set the option to only report new final versions. Therefore I haven't enabled the notification of beta versions at all. However, you will get a notification of newer betas when already using a beta version of TC 9.11.

Seems to be fixed now. TC 9.11rc1 announced version 9.12rc2 as expected. :-)

As I wrote, only beta versions will report new beta versions for now. The release version (e.g. 9.0a, 9.10) will only report new release versions.
