LAN plugin. Browse network. Listing servers in lan

Post by *AlexKniga »

Can I get a list of computers in the network through the LAN plugin?

Here http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=224555&st=3600#entry25233943 suggested variant, sorry in Russian. Leave blank the server name field. TC does not allow to save server properties with an empty name: but without success trying to press OK, then pressing CANCEL. After updating, we have the nameless server through which we receive the list of a network. Due to the fact that TC does not allow to save server properties with an empty name, this hook only works with SMB2.

Tell me, where the plugin stores the settings, so that I can edit the server options, leaving the empty server name.
Or tell me a more direct way to get the list of computers in the network.

No, at least not officially. The problem is that it's very unreliable. Also the LAN plugin doesn't support different usernames/passwords per configured connection.

For example, VLC quietly displays a list of computers on the network.
TC for browsing computers with an enabled guest login is not convenient.
Workaround (The server name for the list is any; the server name/directory is empty) is inconvenient. Also, with the default settings, the workaround does not work in all networks. It is not understandable to prohibit editing other settings with empty server name.
