The order of files? How to sort folders?

This question pertains to when I am in a window viewing a bunch of directories (folders) inside a directory ( folder).
In the taskbar at the top of the window are name, size, date, extension etc. When I click these to change the arrow direction to reorder the files nothing happens? Is it because I am looking at only directories and not files with extensions?

By default, directories are sorted by name. However, it can be changed in Configuration - Options - Display - Like files (also by time).
If you need to change this multiple times, you may create a button in the button bar with the command cm_SwitchDirSort .

Configuration -> Options... -> Display:
Sorting directories
(_) Always by name     (x) Like files (also by time)

If you also want to be able to sort dirs by extension then add this:
SortDirExt=1
to the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file

I sort my folders by "writedate". I want to synch the newest files in each folder. However, newest files in subfolders are not recognized. Any ideas?
