How to sync TC-settings and plugins via cloud ?

Post by *philk »

I have my total commander installed in my onedrive but could be just any cloud provider. On my second machine everything gets synched down but the settings and plugins are not adapted.

But I can see a lot of `computername-nn.br2`files in the onedrive folder and some `wincmd-computername.ini`

What would be the strategy to sync TC over several PCs?

You could try setting the location of your wincmd.ini to the onedrive directory. You can do this either during installation (no need to uninstall!), or with tool inireloc from our addons page, or with command line parameter /i=path to ini

Thanks for your answer.
The wincmd.ini and wcx_ftp.ini are already contained in my TC onedrive folder.

Isn't TC searching for the ini file in its own folder first? Or is the ini location saved in the registry?

Inside my wincmd.ini there is:
pluginbasedir=%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\tools\totalcmd\plugins
InstallDir=%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\tools\totalcmd

Which I guess could also be modified to

pluginbasedir=.\plugin

Move your wincmd.ini to TC dir and set UseIniInProgramDir=7 in it to tell TC to use local one.
