Problems and bugs in "Network Connections" Folder

Post by *Alya »

When I open "Network Connections" folder in Total Commander the "Status" command (in the context menu of each connection icon) does not work. When I click on it, nothing happens.

I often use "Status" command when troubleshooting network problems. It shows current IP of the connection, default gateway, if there was any data sent, etc.

As a result I have to go into command prompt and use Ipconfig instead, to get this information. It's very inconvenient.

Also "Rename" item does not work in the Network Connections' context menu.

Could these bugs please be repaired?

It doesn't work here too. It is a bug.
You can add IpConfig too your start menu, in which case you will not heave so invonenient approach to that function.
We are not doing this just for the money.
We are doing it for sh*t load of money.

Unfortunately I can't do anything about it - it's a virtual folder, and all I do is pass the verb (status) directly to the system via OLE2...

Thanks. I made IPConfig more accessible through a taskbar button command:

noclose.pif /C ipconfig.exe /all

using http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/noclose.html

This way I only have to press the button and ipconfig results pop up in the command prompt window.

I just discovered another good solution.

If Network Connections icon is enabled in Aston Desktop to appear in system tray, then I can get to "Status" dialog by clicking on the icon. It works even if Explorer fully disabled (renamed or deleted off the system)
