Can log on but not upload

Can log onto our site using TC. But have been unable to transfer files. Keep getting a message the says: "Cannot create Remote directory".

Is this a serve problem or an Total commander problem

Don't understand why I can log onto site, but can't upload files.

Does it this only occur in TC or is it the same with other FTP clients? If it works with other progs, you could activate 'passive mode' for FTP in TC, this may solve the problem.
