[Bug?] Tooltip displayed in other Application

Post by *Sheepdog »

Sometimes it occurs here that I browse in Thunderbird an suddely the TC-file tooltips are displayed in the Thunderbird Window. I cannot reproduce it willingly. But it happens once in a while. In the screenshot it looks like Thunderbird were not activ, but that's prbably because I disabled 'katmouse' do see if this App triggers the behavior.

So I'm not really sure if TC is the culprit. But I am sure it is the TC-Tooltip that is displayed. Set the focus to TC and back to the other Application (I'm also not sure if this only happens with Thunderbird only) stops the display of the tooltip.

Can anybody confirm this behavior?

Seems to be an XP behavior. I also experience it with Firefox and XnView once in a while.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hm, until now I never noticed such a thing (neither on XP nor 98 ), but I didn't use thunderbird yet, I'll try if I can confirm that.

I have this behaviour with Process Explorer. When I minimize the window, a tooltip remains on the screen, until I restore Process Explorer again.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Interesting. Inmy case I can switch those toolptips by moving the mouse up and down. It is like the active Window doesn't exist.

And I noticed it first with TC 6.54 (beta). But then it seems to be a coincidence.

Thanks for verifying that.

i think this isn't bug but this behaviour due to how TC show tooltips, TC create new window process with "AlwaysOnTop" property to show tooltip

it is easy to confirm on XP:
show task manager (application tab) by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete
back to TC window and move above any file (or button bar), when the tooltip shown you will see it in task manager as new app created.

in some cases specially if the computer is slow this tooltip remain when switch to another App.

Only TC use this method to show tooltip!
