Command line position

Post by *krstatzar »

I was wondering if there is a way to place command line at the top, below buttonbar? Just a thought :P

No, there isn't. You can only hide it with Configuration->Options->Layout: Show Commandline.

Yes I know that, I like to think I am experinced TC user :wink:
But I thought it would be great if commandline could be placed elsewhere or its length specified ( I would like a shorter one), nevermind TC is the best anyway :lol:

Indeed a little more flexibility with placing some GUI-elements would be nice. In addition to the command-line, the quicksearch-dialog also should be placable above the filepanel, these could be acheived by additional INI settings

Code: Select all

CommandLinePosition=top/bottom
QuickSearchDialogPosition=top/bottom
But I wouldn't priorize those very high, IMHO this should not be added to V7 at any cost, but only if it could be done quickly. That would be very nice for later versions though.

Thanks. :lol:

My opinion is that TC implements lot of great things in every new major version but little is done on it`s GUI there are so many settings and tweakings wich can be achieved trought plugins and additional ini editing but I think some of them shoud be easier to apply out of the box, I know some people who are using TC for 5 or 6 years never knowing how beautiful it can look until they see my setup( :wink: ) And then they start asking and than they get confused. Don`t get me wrong I don`t want a usless eyecandy toy but I think that the best app ever deserves a matching GUI :D

Yes. And as Christian stated already somewhere in this forum, V7 will be served with an overhauled GUI, so lets see what cosmetical improvements will be included in adition to the new icons...
