right mouse button menu

Post by *raytc »

Hello,

Normally I click with the right mouse button on a file and after 2 seconds the right mouse button menu appears.

Now it is not possible anymore.
I have not changed anything in the options menu.
What happened?

Can anyone help me to get my right mouse button menu back? :)

Hi,

maybe a damaged Shell extension is the cause for this. Try to determine this baddie with the free ShellEx View.

Disable non-Microsoft-handles one by one and test if the context menu works.

Hi, raytc.

Before following StickyNomads instruction, you might try to use <Shift>+<F10> instead of the long mouse right click.

If <Shift>+<F10> brings up the contect menu, then you might
+ be experiencing a problem with your (right) mouse (key)
+ be experiencing a problem with your mouse driver (settings)
+ check TC => Config. => Options => Operation => Mouse Selection Mode (just to be sure)

Else you should
+ follow StickyNomads instruction.

Hope it helps determine the cause of your problem and solve it.

Hallo,

<Shift>+<F10> brings up an Access violation error:

Total Commander
---------------------
Access violation at address 7C91142E. Read of address 44206E6F.
Please report this error to the Author,
with a description of what you were doing when this error occured!
Continue execution?
Yes - No

Hmmmm :(

In TC-->Conf-->Option: Mouse selection mode: right mouse

I do not have problems with the Right Mouse menu n Windows Explorer, only in TC

Then it's most probable a defective Shell extension. Try the proposal of StickyNomad.

I also recommend that. You should concentrate on shell extensions for programs which you installed or updated just recently (when the problems started).
