Double vs. single click

Post by *pmennen »

I'm using Total Commander CE 2.0 on a PocketPC 2003 PDA.
To open a folder, I can just touch the folder name with the
stylus and that folder is opened. However on a coworker's PDA
(identical) I have to double click on the folder name to get it
to open. Is this a mode? If so, how do I change it?

One other question while I am here:
When I want to delete a bunch of files, I click on "Ctl"
and then click individually on each file name I want to
delete. Each file that I click on gets added to the list
of files that are highlighted (reverse video). When all
the files are selected, I press the delete button, and it
does what I want. However often I want to delete an entire
range of files. In that case clicking on each file individually
is inefficient. Is there a way to highlight a range of files
like one can do in windows XP (using shift-click).

Sorry for the long winded way of asking the question, but
I didn't know how else to make my question clear.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

This can be changed in the Show->About/Settings dialog box (Single click start checkbox).

You still can use Shift+tap. :) (For PDAs tap is used instead of click ;) ). Your PDA should have either usual or virtual keyboard, so, tap the first file, press Shift, then tap the last file. Or (more convenient way): just press Ctrl+A. You can look in the help file (File -> >>>> -> Help or just Ctrl+H) to learn more about hotkeys.

You can also drag a rectangle around the files (the drag must start outside of the file names), or use the menu item "Select/Unselect files" in the "Show" menu to select specific file types.

Thanks.

Both responses were very useful.
Makes a great program even better
(now that I know how to use it :)

However there's one thing that's bothering a little: when the Ctrl mode is active, dragging a rectangle removes all previously made selections, so I can't use the reactangle in conjunction with Ctrl (only if one and only one rectangle selection is made at the beginning of the entire selection process).
